Despite filing to divorce a year ago, Kim Kardashian is still struggling with parting ways with her ex-husband, Kanye West.
While the two seemed to handle their separation amicably, in October, tensions escalated when Kim began seeing Pete Davidson romantically.
And since then, Kanye has put Kim on blast via social media for a swath of reasons. Everything from not being invited to his daughter Chicago‘s birthday party, dating Pete while still being legally married (despite dating Julia Fox himself), putting a hit out on him and a zillion tiny critiques on how Kim parents in general — including how daughter North is on TikTok. It’s….a lot.
Kim has maintained her composure through it all and even filed to be “legally single” as Kanye had failed to respond to several requests to officially “terminate” their relationship. The papers stated how “no counseling or reconciliation effort” would fix their marriage.
Eventually, Kim addressed the subject in early February and many were impressed with her stoicism and class.
“Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” Kim, 41, began her post to an Instagram Story.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”
She went on to share how she “wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship” with the rapper, 44.
“It is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way,” she concluded. “I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
“I hate that Kanye is making me have mad respect for Kim Kardashian. Don’t make me feel these feelings,” one fan admitted.
While another shared: “I gotta give Kim mad respect for staying quiet this whole time pretty much because if my ex was doing this I would have THE worst time staying quiet. Kanye West is a whole a** mess.”
Followed by: “Say what you want about Kim Kardashian, but she has been an actual saint for not clapping back at Kanye out of respect for her kids.”
