Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristen Davis Release Joint Statement After Chris Noth Is Accused of Sexual Assault

Last week, Sex And The City actor, Chris Noth, who plays Mr. Big, was accused of sexual assault by several women. Now, his co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristen Davis are speaking out.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, actress Zoe Lister-Jones, who is best known for her roles in Life in Pieces, New Girl, and other sitcoms came forward with her experience working for Chris Noth.

Prior to Lister-Jones becoming a well-known actress, she worked at one of the clubs Noth owned. In her statement, Lister-Jones described some of her interactions with Noth, saying that he once “sniffed my neck, and whispered, ‘You smell good,’ while she guest-starred on an episode of Law & Order that he also starred in.

She also alleged that Noth was “consistently sexually inappropriate with a fellow female promoter” as well. However, as Lister-Jones continued to admit at the time of these encounters she “didn’t say anything. It’s so rare that we do.”

Shortly after the actress came forward, so did other women. Now, Noth’s Sex And The City co-stars are speaking out for the first time since the allegations were made.

As The Hollywood Reporter reported, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristen Davis—who play Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs, and Charlotte York respectively—released a joint statement on social media on December 20.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”

And since the allegations were made, Noth has been feeling the repercussions of his alleged actions. According to a multitude of reports, Noth—who was also starring in The Equalizer—opposite Queen Latifah will no longer continue his role on the show.

Noth was also dropped by his agency and the tequila business he owned lost out on a multi-million dollar acquisition deal. In his own response to the allegations, Noth called them “categorically false,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
