This young hero takes being a great big sister to the next level. Khloe Land, a four-year-old Oregon girl, made the brave decision to donate her bone marrow to save the life of her baby brother.
Seven-week-old Colton Land was born with “bubble boy disease,” meaning he had no immune system at birth. His sister turned out to be a perfect donor match and underwent a transplant at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.

According to Good Morning America, Khloe even rocked a Superwoman dress on the day of her procedure.
“He’s incredibly lucky to have had a matched sibling,” Dr. Evan Shereck, leader of the transplant team, shared with GMA. “We prefer matched sibling donors because we know the outcomes of transplant are really good.”
Baby Colton was only one week old when doctors diagnosed him with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), more commonly known as “bubble boy disease.”
Since his successful transplant, Colton is expected to make a full recovery and lead a healthy life.
“Doctors have told us that around one year after transplant he can live a normal life as a kid and be out playing in the dirt and being with other kids,” shared Colton and Khloe’s mother, Kayla Land.
