In a Facebook post shared to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office page, police officers encouraged “all businesses to lock down and or close while we investigate.” State police asked citizens to “Please stay inside your home with the doors locked. If you see any suspicious activity or individuals please call 911.”

Initial reports claim that law enforcement personnel responded to a call from Sparetime Recreation, a bowling alley, and Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant. Lewiston public information officer Derrick St. Laurent also told the Sun Journal newspaper that another shooting was also reported at a local Walmart Distribution Center.
